WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION?

In a Physical Test Centre:

You must present two forms of original (no photocopies), valid (unexpired) identification. One form as a “primary” ID (must be government issued and have your first and last name, photo and signature) and one form as a “secondary” ID (must have your first and last name and signature). The first and last name that you used to register must match exactly the first and last name on both of the IDs that you will present at the time of your test.

Candidates will not be permitted to test without proper ID. Acceptable methods of “primary” ID are:

  • Valid/current driver’s license
  • Valid/current passport
  • Valid/current military ID card
  • Valid/current provincial/territorial ID card

In an Online Proctoring Environment:

ARE THERE ANY PERMISSIBLE ITEMS ALLOWED DURING THE EXAM?

In a Physical Test Centre:

No items are permitted at your work station. The testing location will provide you with the hardware and station requirements as needed.

An online calculator will be available within the exam interface. Candidates are not permitted to bring their own calculators.

An online notepad will be available within the exam interface. Candidates are not permitted to use scrap paper.

In an Online Proctoring Environment:

No items are permitted at your workspace other than the identification and computer/laptop you will be using for this exam.

  • Candidates must test on a hard surface (not a bed or couch)
  • Candidates are not permitted to wear watches
  • Candidates require a mirror or reflective surface to show the proctor the monitor. This can include a cell phone with a front facing camera or or an external USB camera. This ensures there are no notes or writing attached to the monitor.

ARE BREAKS PERMITTED DURING THE EXAM?

In a Physical Test Centre:

Breaks are allowed, however, your examination timer does not stop and you are not given additional time for washroom breaks. It is highly reccommended candidates use the washroom before the start of their examination.

In an Online Proctoring Environment:

Breaks are allowed, however, your examination timer does not stop and you are not given additional time for washroom breaks. In the Online proctoring experience, candidates may be required to conduct a new room pan with their webcam upon return. It is highly reccommended candidates use the washroom before the start of their examination.

IS THERE A TUTORIAL EXAM I CAN TAKE?
Yes. You have access to an exam interface tutorial. We highly recommend that you take the exam tutorial before the exam, so you can become familiar with the exam interface.
Please go to the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam and enter the same access credentials that were provided to you to be able to access the exam.

You can access the tutorial at any time and take it as many times as you wish. The results of this tutorial are not saved.
